Multiplayer
Competitive multiplayer is out in Armageddon. We're still waiting to find out about how we're going to interact with our friends. However, we do know that we can compete with one another in Ruin Mode, where we see who can get the highest score on the always coveted Leaderboard.

I honestly don't think Volition could have done anything stupider. Game's dead on arrival, theres not even a shred of doubt.

Oh Volition... when will you ever learn?

Not much of a death, considering the whole franchise has been in a vegetable state since 2001.

The fact that competitive multiplayer is not in the game has not been comfirmed yet. Volition/THQ are keeping their mouths shut until they're ready to reveal the multiplayer era of RFA. The game looks amazing so far, and it's definetely going to please many.

Whether or not the news is 100% confirmed, Volition better speak up soon about it. People are losing interest in RFA in droves and they really should do whatever they can to squash fears about a lack of multiplayer (if those fears are truly unfounded, that is).

Why the silence? First thing that comes to mind is that they don't have good news.

But hey, I'm not really being optimistic. Hard to ignore Volition's track record.

Proof?

Well the game looking amazing is your opinion I guess - which I certainly disagree with.

Also the pleasing many I find hard to believe - but I guess weirder things have happened.

The proof is self-evident :P There's some reason why Volition isn't saying anything, and that's either because it's really good ( ) or because it's really bad. Look at RF:G, we had a multiplayer beta over a year before the game release. In fact, during the RF:G days, Volition wouldn't shut up about the multiplayer. What we have now is basically total silence (except for garbage posts like "we'll have more info soon" ).

The game will have multiplayer to some extent, it's just what precisely it will have that we don't know, and that's what Volition is withholding.

Do I have a fleeting suspicion that RFB may be RFA's multiplayer component? You betcha.
