I am writing an article or two on this WIKI at the moment, but was wondering how i'd go about adding new pages to the main page. The WIKI is dissapointingly empty and i believe its my task to add good quality information there. To learn how to develop RFG mods there are so many scattered files to read. I would like to unite common information under one wiki (which is currently VERY empty). I'd like to add at least three pages to begin with:

1. YOUR FIRST MOD - FULL ----------- The full version (about 6000-7000 words or 14 A4 pages)
2. YOUR FIRST MOD - SHORT -------- A short version for people who aren't beginners to modding (about 3000-4000 words or 8 A4 pages)
3. FURTHER SIMPLE MODS ----------- A vast array of little ideas, once people have got the basics, to show them just how much can be done.

I'm working on "YOUR FIRST MOD" and writing this initially for absolute modding beginners and go into a lot of detail about the how and why of things. But of course more experienced people wont want to read through 14 pages, so i also want to make a cut-down (but still all-in-one) page for them. Hopefully i can get the FULL version up by the end of today, but how do you make new pages?

Currently the article is a step by step guide, that explains a lot about what we can do, and what tools we need. It also points to Alexybob's article as a bit of research. But msotly the aim if for newbies to be able to have read the full article, and have modded several changes into the game, hopefully within 90 minutes. It also goes into some of the windows UAC problems that can occur, and where to install the files that need downloading, as well as explaining a bit about finding the RFG directory too, so quite in-depth!

So instead of waffling on, I just need to know how i could create new pages, and perhaps edit the titles of existing ones. It says the WIKI is maintained by FactionFiles, so i thought i'd post this here!

Modding for Red Faction Guerilla, which is of course just editing the xtbl files, to make changes to the game. Currently it's just focussing on weapons (what's been written). It is designed to be very all-in-one instead of directing to various links around the internet. I'm going to expand it to look at things like:

* ammo counts
* working with explosions
* editing numbers of squads
* Lowering upgrade prices
* changing the maximum number of remote charges

The first part which is written, and on the YOUR FIRST MOD page, is very text heavy but it aimed at beginners. I'd like to make another page with a shorter version for the more experienced modder, which would be on a seperate page, and they could both have a little note to say which version is which at the top.

The second part is going to have some explanation of whats going on in. But shouldn't be as text heavy anyway, as it will mostly be going into files>making changes>re-packing>testing.

I'd also like to then maybe have a page for various problems and solutions as problem solving information is very scattered, if this info can be united under just one website or wiki, then that place will become a very important place for aspiring and more experienced RFG modders.

You should just be able to search for the page you want to create and a page saying "This page doesn't exist, would you like to create it?" should show up.

Thanks i will try that. Holy Moly I've written a 19 page tutorial in 24 hours. Only just finished, gonna do some last minute testing. Create some pictures so it's not a massive wall of text, and upload it. I'll post here again when the FULL version is on.

OK It's Live!!!

The very first version ended up being a massive 19 pages long. But it's been grammar and spell checked, and i'm just putting the images to accompany the tutorial in now. If anyone is interested in starting to mod RFG and would like to try the tutorial, please do, and let me know how you find it!

Thanks for the effort so late into RFG's short life.
