Description
Listen children to a story, that was written long ago, 'Bout a capture point on a mountain and the valley-folk below.
On the mountain was a treasure, buried deep within a cave, and the valley-people swore, they'd have it for their very own.

This is a simple king of the hill map I put together over 10 days. Both teams start on either side of the mountain with the goal to climb to the top and get the capture point. If you don't want to climb, there are 3 cannons on either side you can jump into that will shoot you to the top. Also behind the capture point is a cave with some goodies and a treasure chest with a damage amp inside. Whatever team owns the capture point should also own the few spawn points on the top of the mountain.

I’m also trying something new with lighting on this one. There is no baked in lighting, the map is fully lit with a dynamic light that continuously moves across the sky from east to west and changes colour from sunrise to sunset. Then another much fainter one at night that moves across the mountain from south to north. The skybox changes every 22 sec and roughly aligns with the light. In total there are 16 different skyboxes. (2 sunrise, 5 day, 2 sunset, 7 night). The haze colour and ambient sounds also change as the sky changes.

Notes:

- This map requires Alpine Faction v1.3 or newer ( https://alpinefaction.com ) to run.
- Most of the lighting and sky features aren't supported by the Direct X 9 renderer, so in DX9 mode players will only have 1 day and 1 night sky/lighting, similar to the way it is done in my Catan series of maps, as well as no scrolling clouds.
- In vertex lighting mode in the Direct X 11 renderer, the dynamic lighting just doesn't work at all for some unknown reason, so it has to be run with the new pixel lighting mode to get the full effect.

Bugs:

- Since the lighting is on continuous moving keyframes, there is no way to keep it in sync between players, so late joiners will have very different lighting then players that were there from the start.
- If you have your music volume setting turned all the way down before loading the map, none of the music will play, even if you turn the setting back up after loading the map. It needs to have some volume prior to loading for the music to work.
