Introducing the Red Faction Unite 8 Community Mapping Project!

Contained within this pack are the 5 maps created by various community mappers for the RFU8 Community Mapping Project.

What is RFU?
Red Faction Unite is a collaborative Red Faction (1) community level design project in which participants each design a level which adheres to a common theme, then all the levels are released collectively in a map pack. The first 4 incarnations of the project (RFU1 - RFU4) were in 2004 and 2005, the fifth (RFU5) was in 2020, the sixth (RFU6) was in 2021, and the seventh (RFU7) was in 2023.

What's the theme for RFU8?
The theme for RFU8 is Board Games, with each included map incorporating this theme in their own way.

I wasn't involved with the first RFU project back in 2004, but I can confidently say that when those folks were working on that project, they never could have imagined that in 2025 - over 20 years later - the 8th iteration of RFU would finally see the light of day. Simply incredible. Congratulations to all of RFU8's great mappers. A special shout out to Vel for being the only designer to have participated in 6 out of 8 RFU projects to date - including both RFU1 and RFU8
