Revised version of PDM04: Medical Hub - inspired by the Quake Series map "Aerowalk"
The primary improvement in this version is the
much better portaling which results in incredible performance improvements. During testing, in some cases performance was literally doubled in this version when compared to the original. Some other very minor gameplay changes and additional performance optimizations were also made.
Changes in this version include:
- Various performance improvements
- Use of
Alpine Faction events, like the teleporter
- Replaced several teleporters with jump pads to help RF-style gameplay flow
- Use of dynamic lights for jumppads and teleporter
- Improved lighting
- Improved windows
- Revamped item layout
- Revamped upper teleport exit
- Added new route to wind tunnel jump pad

Very cool map! Lots of nice detail and brush work. I especially liked seeing the outside areas through the windows, makes the place feel much bigger and more real/immersive. Kinda wish the windows in the stairwell area were lower so it would be easier to just stand and admire the scenery. Feels like something that could easily fit in the RF sp campaign, although probably has more detail then the stock sp levels. There was a couple portal glitches I noticed, with things popping in and out depending on what side of the portal you were on, nothing major though. Overall was pretty fast paced and worked well for game night!

⚠️ This review was written for an older revision of the file. The comments may not apply to the newest version. Reviewed as: Medical Hub Revised (RC1) Excellent , under appreciated map. I wish more mappers would try to make DM maps in this style .
