Description
Tempered Steel is a mid-sized Assault map set in an Ultor facility on Mars. The map was designed for the Red Faction Unite 7 community mapping project, and an ideal player load of 12-20.

The scenario for this map is that the miners (red team) are attacking a power facility controlled by Ultor (blue team). They must first take Site A and Site B offline before they can access Site C. Once Site C is offline, the power core is exposed, and can be destroyed. Each site has 3 buttons that must be pressed in sequence, and the power core is destroyed by hitting another button. Only the red team can press the objective buttons.

NOTE: Be sure to set the max captures to 1 when hosting a server on this map.

Thanks to all the Red Faction developers, players, and fans on the FactionFiles Discord (https://discord.gg/factionfiles) who keep the game alive to this day, over 20 years after its initial release. Special thanks go out to all of my fellow RFU7 mappers - great job everyone! I look forward to playing all of these awesome RFU7 maps with you all for years to come!

This map took me by suprise at how close to Team Fortress 2 it was with its layout. I love the objectives on this map because it adds difficulty to the level for longer game play. The longer you have to play on a level like this, the more you want to play it to complete it. The layout was done very well with signs telling you where to go. It's easy to work out as well where to go with ABC. Start at A, end at C. Nothing more simple than that. I had a great time playing this map.

This map feels like a new opportunity to have other map makers follow in its footsteps. The objectives are very clever and look very cool. As far as the gameplay I think that it has some of the strongest potential to be not only played regularly but imitated as an option for game type. I am always impressed with how well maps themed like RF1 have evolved and this is right up there with one of my favorites. Great work!
