Some concept art from Volition's cancelled Descent 4 project, much of which was subsequently repurposed for use in Red Faction's development process.

Pack contains 7 pieces of Descent 4 concept art and a text file containing some of the text that was on Volition's D4 site at the time. The content of that text file is also below.

"Descent 4" is the working title for the next product in the Descent series. It is in the early stages of development here at Volition. Check here for future updates as well as screenshots, animations, and other previews.

We've posted two new sets of D4 concept art. These show potential suits for the central character, currently referred to as "Parker." Concepts such as these are partly the result of discussion among the team and reflect some consensus. They are also used to spark more discussion and give the whole team a common vision. Programmers, for example, are notorious for not understanding what something will look like until they see it.

The plan in D4 is that how you move about the mines will change periodically.
