I have no idea how it took me this long to review the first run map I ever played, but here we are...

Deathrun 2. Sure, later maps by Cyrus and other run mappers are prettier, flashier, longer, more difficult, etc. but there's certainly value in going back to basics. Now nearing its 22nd birthday, this map is still a joy to play today.

Built as Cyrus refined his winning formula from the first Deathrun, this second incarnation in his series was the first run map to be designed in a time where the community actually knows what a "run map" is and how they are enjoyed. This map established a number of core foundational aspects that are still present in most run maps today - like checkpoint doors, for example.

Deathrun 2 is a must-play for any run map fan.
