To expand my Red Faction retail collection i recently bought the new german "Red Faction complete collection" which were released last year here in germany after THQ/Nordic finally manage to remove Red Faction 1 and Red Faction 2 from the list of banned games.

I want to share the content of the box and compare it to the 2014 released "Red Faction complete" international (english) version, which is sadly made very poor. Glad to see they do some more effort with the new collection. So this is just for fans of the game and if you like to see what is inside, if you don't care please ignore. :)

Since i order online there is not much information about the content or the look of the box, so i didn't know what's inside. My guess was a simple DVD box with the steam key and maybe a game disc.

I was suprised when i saw the box is not like i expected. It's a strong cardboard box, covered with a plastic film. A sticker says "Red Faction 1 and Red Faction 2 is english language only". I guess the reason for the english language is that the original released german retail of both games are heavily modified and cut in content with reduced violence, removed textures and so on. So they just pack the english game with full content on the disc because it might be hard to modifiy the original german release. Also steam doesn't offer a german langauge.

On the rear side is some information, but not worth to talk about.

Once unpacked, the box look very nice and the print feels very well. The front picture and the text is in style of Red Faction Guerrilla. The cardboard with the age rating and content information on the bottom which is also the information text on the rear side can be removed.

After removing the cardboard with information, there is a new picture on the rear side of the box which look like like a mix of Red Faction Guerrilla and Armageddon. But i'm not sure about it.

The full title of the box is "Red Faction: ze german ädischn" which simply means "the german edition" with a funny aspect how german people pronounce the english langauge. Some people might laugh about it, i think it's ridiculous, but ok. Funny THQ Nordic. :P

After finally open the box, i'm a bit confused how to continue.

The next picture shown i guess is in style of Red Faction Armageddon. I realized the box is fold like a flyer, so i continue to unfold.

The next picture is clearly in style of Red Faction 2.

And here are the game discs from Red Faction 1 to Red Faction 2 to Guerrilla & Armageddon. For the game disc and style of the background images they only use content from Red Faction Guerrilla and Armageddon. The steam key is hidden behind the game disc for Red Faction 1. Now we look for more treasures which are hidden behind the page for Red Faction 1 in a additional box.

Fan-stuff, yey! On the top, there are stickers in style of Red Faction Guerrilla (font) and Red Faction 2 symbols.

Posted Image
There are 2 post-cards mixed with Guerrilla and Armageddon.

Posted Image
And there are 2 posters, again in style of Guerrilla and Armageddon.

Posted Image
Second poster. I don't need it, but i like it. Sadly that's it, there is no manual inside or anything from Red Faction 1. :(

Complete view of the box.

As conclusion i really like the box and i'm thankful for THQ Nordic to release it. Compared to the english complete collection retail it's well made.

Posted Image
The english retail complete collection were released in 2014 and comes with a standard DVD box.

After opening the box, there is not much to see. Inside are 3 game discs just for Red Faction Guerrilla and Armageddon, behind the white note is the steam key. There is nothing more inside to talk about. :-/

I hope you like it to have a look and i'm happy to own a new Red Faction piece in my collection.

Awesome collection Cyrus!

Thanks for posting the unboxing, I certainly appreciated it. I'm pretty jealous of your collection though :P My collection currently contains RF1 and RF2 on PS2, as well as 4 copies of RF1 PC in a different case to the one you have (see below).
