So, I made my IP static, forwarded ports for the server, configured the server, launched the server, added the server, entered the server, yet nobody can seem to join my...you guessed it. Why around the world can't anyone see my precious server, "Global -|- Genocide"???

I replied to your PM, I need your public IP not your private one

Took a guess and tried manually adding port 7756 on the IP you used to access this site... still can't see the server. Make sure you forwarded the port on UDP (not TCP)

Alright, got the new PM.

Server doesn't show up when I add it to my list manually.

Next things to check...
* Make sure the port is forwarded on UDP (as mentioned above)
* Check any software firewalls you may have on your PC (Windows Firewall, any firewalls built into an antivirus, etc). Clicking "allow" on PF is enough to play, but probably not enough to host a server.
* If you have another computer on your network, try to join the server using the 192.168.x IP on the other computer.

I have another computer on the network and it too is connected to the "Global -|- Genocide" server. When I forwarded the port, I made it for both TCP and UDP. I'll just make it for UDP then. Could you check it again at your earliest convenience? I would like to get to the virtual killing on a larger scale. Thanks.

Alright, so...

Server shows up now when I add it manually. This means the port forwarding rule is working.

Unfortunately it's not showing up on the master server yet because it's reporting its presence from the wrong port. Could be one of a few things.

1) Try restarting your router and PC to clear the state table. It could just be that you had a bad entry from before the port forwarding rule was corrected.
2) Your router could be doing this thing that some routers do where they ignore the port forwarding rule for outgoing packets. You may need to explore the router settings to find a way around this, although some routers I've seen actually don't have a way to fix it. It's kind of hard to explain.

It looks like your game client is going out on the right port though, so I'd bet that restarting the router and PC will take care of it.

For future reference, the old -R:M- site has an online server list that's handy for testing stuff like this. It shows a list of servers as seen from another computer, so if your server shows up in the list then it will show up for everyone else too. http://rm.servehttp.com/viewpage.php

If your router does end up having the issue I described, you might be able to get the guy who runs the master server to add a static entry for your server. I believe he has done this for someone before.

The debug page for the tracker is at http://rf.thqmultiplay.net.

Edit: Just wanted to confirm that the server is showing up 100% correctly now. It actually looks like the RM site has a delay in updating the server list, so it may not be appearing there. I'll talk to the guy who runs it about that tomorrow.

Ok. I rebooted my Router and my PC. Gonna go find the guy at the main server to get me static so I can get this show on the road. Appreciate your time. I'll post an update when this thing gets going...

Edit: Just received the edit. Thanks for contacting the gent in charge.
