Which AV?

This. Some AV solutions have (wrongly) detected PF as a virus in the past due to the way it was created and packaged. We've contacted these AV vendors and the detections have been removed.

This is what comes up:
WS.Reputation.1
Summary
Technical Details
Removal
Updated: February 15, 2012 3:15:47 PM
Type: Other
Risk Impact:
High
Systems Affected: Windows 2000, Windows NT, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista, Windows XP
Symantec’s reputation technology system tracks the attributes of software files (applications, drivers and DLLs) from multiple sources, including:

Anonymous data contributed by tens of millions of Norton Community Watch members
Anonymous data contributed by enterprise customers in a data collection program tailored to large enterprises
Data provided by software publishers
Symantec’s Global Intelligence Network

The reputation-based system uses "the wisdom of crowds" (Symantec’s tens of millions of end users) connected to cloud-based intelligence to compute a reputation score for an application, and in the process identify malicious software in an entirely new way beyond traditional signatures and behavior-based detection techniques.

The system considers many aspects of a file, including file age, file download source, digital signature, and file prevalence. These attributes are combined using a proprietary algorithm to determine a file’s safety reputation. The system maintains a rating for all files rather than just malicious files. Each software file is given a GOOD, BAD or SUSPICIOUS rating.

Symantec’s reputation-based security engine continuously monitors all files and over time a file’s reputation may change.

OK 1 OTHER QUESTION:
So... I can go to Purefaction.org D/L Purefaction 3.0d or do I have to D/L another PureFaction version first?

Thanks:01:

You should be good to just use the 3.0d installer.

Thanks for the report from Symantec. I'll submit a false positive report to them and hopefully they'll make the appropriate adjustments.

OK up and running, No problems.

Thanks for your help and input. There are a-lot of people that still play and your help to them (and me) is appreciated.

P.S. I use windows 10 on a new computer. My old one finally died (from the early 90's) and I had no idea that there was so much detail on the maps in multiplayer.

There isn't really even a false positive to report. I doubt they will do anything

Quoting thing

Each software file is given a GOOD, BAD or SUSPICIOUS rating.

file age - mid 2015, fairly new
file download source - pf.org which is basically a random website as far as symantec is concerned
digital signature - none
file prevalence - probably 0.0000001% of symantec users are using pf
