I thought it'd be a good idea to start a thread for everyone to share any screenshots, video, etc. they have of lost/forgotten maps & mods from RF's history. That is, any maps or mods that were either never released, or you can't find a copy of. Hopefully this thread can assist in uncovering some old RF content that would otherwise be lost forever.

If you're reading this and you have a copy (even a beta, unfinished, or partial copy) of a map or mod shown in this thread, please share it with everybody in the community by uploading it to the files section of the site.

I'll start:

Casualties of World War II was supposed to be a WWII-themed RF mod, which if I remember correctly was being developed in the 2004-2006 timeframe.

The Simpsons Mod was being worked on by SKA-Diesel in 2005-2006. Of all of the screenshots/renders I remember seeing of this mod, this is the only one I could find.

uhmm i don't think i have any lost mods or maps, since i usually clean up old junk left for years. But no doubt you should have some, since you were a great old-school part of the community for having stuff we never had before. :P
Besides who would play these stuff again especially unfinished or betas that no one's expecting to get those finished ? It's just pointless unless it is something we're all familiar with and believe we still have it now.

Some people (myself included) like looking at and playing content we remember from years ago. RF and its history are very nostalgic for a lot of current and former community members, and my idea in creating this thread is to help ensure that history is not lost.

FactionFiles is quickly becoming the only real remaining historical archive for the game, and I'd like to gather and archive as much of the game's history as possible. It's the same reason why when I have spare time, I continually review old backups and upload any RF content I find.

Wish I could remember the maps name , there was a modified ctf-checkmate I use to play... Had a matrix portal in the middle to a tunnel and few other sneaky sniper spots.... Sadly too many Checkmate maps to remember the name... I know it had music.. Some sort of rap ?

Kungkrille's Models were amazing.
Not to mention his "cars mod".
I think I have both tucked away somewhere.

I also have the Wild West Mod I was working on ages ago.

I think I may still have a copy of some of the Simpson mod files as he used to send me screenshots and bits to test, although would be up to him if he wanted it released.

If required I can have a good look through my old files when I get time, although I have no idea what you already have/don't have.

That would be much appreciated, Beatonator. I've already uploaded a few "Dead Releases" to the mods section of the site (AQuest, Eko, Goldeneye for example), or if needed, I can make a file category for unfinished content archiving (if the maps/mods you have aren't yet in a functional state).

Do you still have contact info for Diesel? I've tried to contact him a few times, but he hasn't written me back.

On another note, does anyone have a copy of the Stargate Mod, or a way of contacting RFGrimReaper?

Grim reaper still plays I have him on Skype, he uses the name Death on rf now, I'll tell him your looking for him

Wrong Grim Reaper mate ;)

I have Grim on Steam, but I rarely if EVER sign in to it as I loath the thing. I can see if I can contact him.

I will also try to have a sift through my RF files, I have them split over several HDD's and lately don't have time for anything besides work and on the very rare occasion, Titanfall!

(No edit post button?)

Goober, will take a look tonight if I can remember... was about to say I could check at lunch as I normally have my external HDD with me, but its sat at home in the back of my NAS currently! lol.

RE: Diesel, sadly not. I was in contact with him for a time after the RF days, but lost touch which is an immense shame. I know he wanted to go in to the film business.

The edit post button expires after a set amount of time... I can't remember the exact time period though. Digi or Munkey should know. It's primarily so that after that time period, if someone wants to post an update, they have to make a new post, which bumps the thread to the top of the "latest forum posts" list so everyone can see that there's an update. It also has the added benefit of not letting users change posts they made years ago and that have already been replied to. :v

Ya, I remember that as well. I tried emailing his hotmail account a few times over the past few years. He never responded, so I'm assuming he no longer uses that account.

Sweet mother mary! I've managed to get 3Ds Max Studio 5 working on Windows 7! Might actually have a crack at finishing off a mod!

AuditorMSP here. I have this mod extracted from the L4Y archive. It should be uploaded when an admin approves it.

I think I can recall the creator of the mod saying that it's a dead release. Only three weapons are remade in the mod, which is the assault rifle, rail driver, and the rocket launcher. Other than that, the gameplay should stay the same.

Approving because someone wants it. Since there was no screenshot or good description it sat for a while

Oops! Just want to say a big thanks to AuditorMSP for uploading the file, but I think we may have got our wires crossed...

The files I listed are ones I actually have on my PC! I've been testing them recently!
