----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Included in this mod;

Custom Weapon
Custom Clutter
Custom SFX/music
Customised Barracks level

This mod includes notes which you can read as you progress - press use to open them and use to close them again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This short mod was made as a bit of a creative outlet for me, really a weeks worth of work
to try and create something a little bit different in Red Faction, I really hope you enjoy!

Shoutout to Goober for technical info and advice + Beta test

All of the additional models you see were made by me in Blender.

All additional credits are in the game!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

: Requires PC version of Red Faction with the Dash Faction patch (v1.6.0+ required, v1.7.0+
recommended).
: The Dash Faction patch is available at no cost from http://DashFaction.com

: !!! This isn't a suggestion, you MUST be using Dash 1.6.0 or higher for the campaign to
work properly.
: !!! I'd recommend using 1.7.0 or higher though, to fix a few audio bugs you'll run into
otherwise.

Barracks Horror! Is a great, small mod for RF that's fun to explore. It reminded me a lot of playing an old school Resident Evil game-- so much so that at one point I was trying to remember which button to press to check my inventory (not a thing in RF). It has great spooky atmosphere throughout. Throughout the mod, you pick up lore notes which guide you what to do next. I really enjoyed Barracks Horror! casually but it also makes for a fun speed run that clocks in at less than 4 minutes. Definitely give it a try- especially if you're a fan of horror games.

Awesome mod that really feels like an indie horror game. The atmosphere is pretty haunting in this. The thick fog, eerie sounds and quick little scares are pretty effective at building tension.
Gameplay in this mod is unique. No combat just using clues to find keys to be able to advance. The clues mainly being notes you can find was a good idea especially having keywords highlighted was very smart.
Ngl it does remind me of Silent Hill 2, especially the first puzzle, not a bad thing though. The same mechanisms work out well here.
All in all fantastic little mod Intharth, looking forward to more

I was prepared for any jumpscares this mini-mod has as i finally had the chance to play this. Only once it got me at a bloody door cause curiosity just skipped my heart's beat. Great going with the ghost of Capek wandering around.

As eckozero said, this is not a fast-paced riot shooting campaign. Instead it's just a chilling and creepy exploring-type mod to pick up items in order to progress further. The final part actually had me going without ever stopping or looking back as the music changed all of a sudden. I knew i had to keep moving towards the end cause i had Amnesia vibes from this.

Splendid work Intharth. Hopefully you'll expand this concept and bring more of this in the future.

The Red Faction engine does a lot of cool things in a lot of cool ways, but I'll be honest... I did NOT expect that it could be creepy AF.
Intharth has done much more than created a mildly disturbing level with this mod - he's crafted a genuine horror experience.

This mod plays like the bad dream it's supposed to be, with the disturbing sense of warped familiarity. The music triggers, ambient sounds, and occasional jumpscares add to this sense of warped familiarity and excellently play into well-known horror game tropes.

If you're after a high octane shooting experience, or a story-rich campaign, this is not the mod for you.
But if you'd like to see what the Red Faction engine can do in terms of atmospheric horror, and how a familiar level can become unfamiliar and disconcerting, definitely check this out.

Who knew nano-enhanced fever dreams were this vivid? :v

Barracks Horror is a super fun immersive horror experience set (loosely) in the RF universe. It's short but engaging, and incorporates a lot of really cool tech and sequencing. The use of fog, ambient sound effects, and light glares really creates a feeling of unease that persists throughout.

Great work on this one, Intharth! This mod features a style of narrative gameplay that isn't often explored in RF, but it honestly works really well. I'd love to see you build on this concept and create more similar experiences - I know I'll play them :!
